Grimm's Godfather

My project is a visual novel game. I am retelling a story from the Grimm Brother’s fairy tale and put into interactive video game where instead of a linear story, it has multiple choice where you can end up having different storyline and endings. In the story ‘Godfather Death’ what happen if you didn’t choose Grim Reaper as your godfather? How would your decision affect the story?

Most common visual novel games are dating and horror simulator and they have more of a working task than the story itself. I want to create a story that you can enjoy the game rather than win the game, let the reader discover the story for themselve and explore many possible choice.

This project includes a flow chart that maps out the story and branch out into different paths, it is a easier guide to tell the story with some storyboard to support. A free open source software called Ren’Py that I have produce is based on Python language, it requires heavily on visual art and storytelling, and few animation and transition to enhance the experience.

I have use a drawing program such as Photoshop or Clip Studio Paint with the support of Wacom tablet as my design tool, it is useful to produce the character and background concepts on the screen and also to produce the output that I need.
