Kia Ora! I'm Zhijing from Shanghai, China, and my journey as an international student in New Zealand has been shaped by my love for travel. I first discovered New Zealand’s stunning landscapes during trips with my parents, which inspired me to choose this country for my studies. Throughout my time at university, I’ve explored various design fields, such as app development and animation, always aiming to create engaging, user-friendly experiences.
My passion for gaming has also influenced my design perspective, inspiring me to think creatively about how people interact with digital spaces. One of the highlights of my studies was interning as a UI designer in the marketing department at Gallagher during my third year. This experience allowed me to apply my skills in a professional setting and gain valuable insights into real-world design work.My goal is to continue growing as a designer and to one day contribute to creating innovative and user-friendly digital solutions.
This project is an educational animation aimed at children aged 10-13, using storytelling to simplify the complex issue of climate change. Through the perspectives of penguins and green sea turtles, the animation illustrates the impacts of climate change on their habitats and highlights the importance of conservation efforts. I chose this approach to engage young audiences with relatable characters and clear visual explanations, making the topic accessible and memorable. The project includes detailed scenes showing the challenges these animals face and concludes with a call for interaction, inviting children to think about conservation solutions.
