Student Bio

Hi there, I'm Daniel Parker and I'm studying a bachelor of design majoring in Industrial design. I developed an interest in design from a college class called Design and Visual Communication which has lead me to where I am now.

Coming to University I chose Industrial design as even though it wasn't well established as I liked the atmosphere since I come from the country side. Developing my understanding of design through the past few years have helped in looking at products through a new lens and guessing on how they were made or how to change them to make them more interactive or fun.

Project Description

Raniera is a project that aims to create a compact modular kitchen. This project aims to target those looking at or living in tiny homes, Mobile Campers and Vans as the one thing they lack is space for having a good kitchen. The unit intends to solve this problem by creating a small kitchen that is easily portable, customizable to fit the user's needs and modular so that if anything breaks or is not needed, the user can change it.

This product's interest points are that the dimensions make it easily customizable with varying sizes of components, and it is self-sufficient as there is an option to add a water tank, LPG tank and water filter. And lastly, the product aims to be easily assembled and disassembled if needed, as well as be easy to move around.
