BIOGRAPHY

Hello! I am Benedict Brondial and I will soon graduate with a Bachelor of Design Majoring in Communication Design and Minoring in Media Design. I have been passionate about design ever since and Waikato was the perfect place to strive for my dreams.

I have always thought that design was just a hobby of mine and that it is something that I can just do on the side while still focusing on another path of career. I then came to realise that nothing interested me as much as I am passionate about design and how it works. That is when I knew that design is something that I want to do for my career. During my time here in Waikato, I have learned many essential skills, gained knowledge and had many opportunities that have helped me grow to the person I am today. I found that my areas of interest are in the lines of branding, print design and app UX design. Waikato has also helped me pursue my passion for photography in which now I do on the side as freelance.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

New Zealand may be perceived as clean and green by the rest of the world but we also carry flaws which affect not just our environment as a country but also affects the rest of the world. In New Zealand, we discard 15.5 million tonnes of waste each year. That is 3,200kg for every kiwi! Right now we only recycle 28% of this waste. In order to have a sustainable community that is safe for our future, this needs to improve. We as humans need to improve. My project is an organisation called “Wayste” which is an organisation that focuses on educating everybody about the waste that we are consuming and not managing properly.

Through “Wayste”, I have created a series of posters for a campaign which focuses on letting the world know that “it is all in our hands” for our earth to be better. For our earth to be better, we as humans, need to do better. I have also created supporting collaterals such as business cards and booklets to further support my campaign.

I have used the power of social media to further support my campaign. Through the platform Instagram, I will be using this platform to promote the voice of “Wayste” in order for our world to be better.
