BIOGRAPHY

Hello! My name is Alyssa Evans and I will soon graduate with a Bachelor of Design Majoring in Communication Design. My passion for design first started when I was in primary school, I always had a strong interest in the arts and media studies and knew I wanted to pursue a career in this area in some way.

Design is such a huge part of our lives in everything we do,I find it as a way I can creatively express myself. During my time at university I have further developed my passion for design and expanded upon these skills with the help of my lecturers, tutors and peers. Branding, Print and UI design are my main passions but I have dabbled in 2D and 3D game development and also video editing which I also thoroughly enjoy. I am always up for a new challenge and the field of design allows me to find new areas to discover and learn so I will never get bored of what I do.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

My Project, Swap Street is a mobile app that will address the problem of unnecessary waste thrown into local landfills. The purpose of my app is to enable patrons of local communities to live more sustainably.

The average NZ rubbish bin contains 65 percent of waste which could be avoided or put to better use. Swap Street is an online service wherein people can post items to give away, or search for specific items they want, this in turn minimizes the need to throw good quality items away.
