Project Description

The world is ever evolving and constantly changing, thus design must be fluid and adaptive in response. Mental health, physical wellbeing and concern for the environment is at the forefront of young people's minds, I embarked on redesigning the University of Waikato’s current “Exam Survival Kit” with this in my mind. “YESK” is short for Your Exam Survival Kit. The kit’s purpose is to promote mental health and physical wellbeing to school leavers during their final exams through fun, useful, sustainable items. An additional main aim I had was to redesign the kit as completely zero waste and biodegradable with reusable elements that could be repurposed. Every visual element in this pack was subjected to constant changes and improvements especially the typography. I liaised with my target audience, my fellow design students, my mentor and others to ensure I could view my project subjectively. I thrive on constructive criticism which informs my work and allows me to improve upon it immensely.
