Biography

Hi, my name is Paige. I am currently in my final year of a Bachelor of Design, and am majoring in both Interface and Media design. I have always been passionate about all forms of art, and knew I wanted a job in the creative industry. Studying painting and photography throughout highschool encouraged me to pursue a career in design here at the University of Waikato.

Since starting my tertiary study, I have developed an interest in web and app design, as well as branding and advertising.

Project Description

I have developed a website and social media identity which aims to sell phone cases made entirely from recycled plastics. This project was designed to combat the problem that is plastic pollution of the world's oceans. An estimated 4 - 12 million tons of plastic enter the ocean each year, and single use plastics are one of the largest contributors.

Using my skills in Interface and Media design, I have created a cohesive brand identity with multi-media content and a strong visual identity, inline with the promotion of better environmental health. The main deliverable of my project is the e-commerce website which is targeted at teenagers and young adults who are concerned with both the health of the environment, and style of there phone cases.

The goal of my project is to raise awareness of the problem of plastic pollution, and offer a new and creative way to recycle single use plastics.
