Biography

Kia Ora. My name is Kauri Walker and I am a Computer Graphic Design student who is soon to be graduating.

I have experience with Branding and Publication design but also have a passion for Interface and Web design. My passion for design stems from my proud Maori heritage, to the environment and the world around us.

Design is a fast paced world that continues to grow, evolve, and inspires me to keep learning and become a better person.

Project Description

This project Equest that I have created has been inspired by the environmental issues around the world but mainly focusing here in our beautiful country, New Zealand.

There is an increasing amount of people who are already aware about these issues, however there is still a big market that isn’t targeted - Young Adults. The application uses gamification to motivate users to make small eco friendly changes in their lives that not only help save the planet but also save the users money. The application also aims to educate the users.

Equest will give the user real statistics on the real impacts that products like plastic bottles have on the ocean marine life and more. This application not only spreads more awareness, but could be New Zealand’s ticket to really become 100% Green.
